On Eid morning, Muslims gather for special prayers called Eid Salah. These prayers happen in mosques or open spaces. After prayers, families come together to enjoy big feasts with sweet dishes like Seviyan, Kheer, and Phirni. Because of these sweet treats, Eid-ul-Fitr is also called “Meethi Eid.”
US Warns of Possible Dangers During Eid Celebrations
The U.S. government has warned its citizens about possible attacks during Eid. These attacks could target places like embassies, international organizations, or government buildings in Syria’s capital, Damascus. The U.S. State Department said, “The U.S. Department of State cautions U.S. citizens of the increased possibility of attacks during Eid al-Fitr holiday, which could target embassies, international organizations, and Syrian public institutions in Damascus.”
The warning explains that attackers may use guns, bombs, or other dangerous methods. The U.S. has listed Syria as a Level 4 danger zone, meaning “Do Not Travel.” This is because of risks like terrorism, kidnapping, and war.
Since 2012, the U.S. Embassy in Damascus has been closed. The Czech Republic now helps U.S. citizens in Syria. The U.S. government said, “U.S. citizens in Syria who are in need of emergency assistance should contact the U.S. Interests Section of the Embassy of the Czech Republic.”

Trinidad and Tobago has declared a holiday on March 30 (Sunday) for Eid celebrations, and a public holiday has also been declared on March 31 and April 1. No mention of moon sightings were made.
