Ekta Kapoor officially announce Ek Villain sequel with Bhushan Kumar

For quite some time there have been several reports on the sequel of 2014 blockbuster Ek Villain which starred Sidharth Malhotra and Shraddha Kapoor in lead roles.

The movie which also starred Ritiesh Deshmukh in pivotal roles was a good success at the box office and its sequel is awaited by the fans for long.

Earlier there were reports of director Mohit Suri confirming the movie with John Abraham and Aditya Roy Kapoor in lead roles. While there is no confirmation on the lead yet, Ekta Kapoor has finally announced the film and yes it’s happening.

Ekta took to Twitter to announce it and wrote in a tweet, “When the first thing u both say Is ‘JAI MATA DI‘ Looking forward to up the entertainment quotient with @itsBhushanKumar!Starting with the sequel of 2014 blockbuster – #EkVillain! The second instalment will release on Jan 8, 2021! It’s indeed a mark of a new beginning.”

Talking about this collaboration, Kapoor said to a media portal, “It is always exciting to work with like-minded individuals and people who share the same passion as you. As producers, we’re always looking to enhance the experience and entertainment quotient for audiences and the collaboration with Bhushan & T-Series will help us create just that. This association is indeed a mark of a new beginning.”

Asserts Kumar, “Ekta and I have previously worked together for the music of her films. I am glad that we are joining hands to produce meaningful cinema and bring to our audiences diverse content. It will be a powerful collaboration and I am hoping we bring to screen some path-breaking stories.”

T-Series and Balaji Motion pictures will be jointly producing the second installment of  Mohit Suri directorial Ek Villain releasing on January 8, 2021.
