Election Commission declares votes of 2 Congress MLAs invalid

After a high-voltage drama, the Election Commission of India on Tuesday night has reportedly disqualified the votes of two rebel Congress MLAs, who had voted in favour of the BJP candidate.

As per the rules, a legislator can’t show his ballot-paper to anyone, except his own party representative.

The Congress had alleged that two of its MLAs Bhola Gohil & Raghav Patel showed their ballot-papers to Amit Shah.

Reacting to the Election Commission order, Ahmed Patel said, “I appreciate the order of the Election Commission. I salute my MLAs & rank & file of the Congress Party.”
