The employees of a government office in East Champaran in Bihar wear helmets while working in the office.
The dilapidated condition of the office building has forced the employees to cover their heads while working inside the office.
Even the people visiting the office in prefer to cover their heads before entering its premises.
Lalan and Parvej Ahmad, who work in the land records department of the office said that many members of the office staff have been injured when parts of the roof fell on them.
“This is quite an old building. Walls and the roof of the building are in a very bad shape. Water starts trickling the moment it rains. The roof can cave in any day. Since we can’t be absent from our duties, we all decided to wear helmets,” they said.
The Bihar government construction department has declared that the building unsafe and advised people to discontinue the work there, but despite that people continue to work inside the building.
