EPFO 3.0: A New Beginning
The much awaited EPFO 3.0 is set to come out by June 2025. Union Labour Minister Mansukh Mandaviya revealed that this upgraded system will introduce several exciting features for EPFO members, one of the most anticipated being the ability to withdraw EPF savings directly from ATMs. The goal of this feature is to provide greater financial flexibility and convenience, especially during emergencies, making it easier for members to access their funds whenever needed.
Improved User Experience with EPFO 3.0
As part of the ongoing improvements, the EPFO 3.0 will also focus on enhancing the user experience. The new system will feature a more user-friendly website, with a streamlined and simplified account navigation process. This upgrade will allow members to easily manage and access their retirement savings. The new system is designed to work as efficiently as modern banking systems, making it easier for users to handle their EPF-related tasks without hassle.
Flexibility in Pension Plans and Contribution Options
In addition to the ATM withdrawal feature, EPFO is considering changes to the Employees’ Pension Scheme (EPS). As per Timesnownews, Under the current system, both the employer and the employee contribute 12% each towards the pension scheme.
However, the upcoming changes would allow employees to choose whether to contribute more or less, giving them more flexibility in managing their pension funds. This change could provide members with greater control over their contributions, helping them plan their retirement savings more effectively.

Faster Claim Settlement and Pension Payments
As per Mint, EPFO subscribers must wait 7 to 10 days for their claims to be settled after making an online request. Once the claim is settled, the money is transferred to the beneficiary’s bank account. With the rollout of the Centralised Pension Payments System (CPPS), pensioners will no longer have to visit physical locations for verification.
This system has already been fully implemented in all EPFO regional offices and allows pensioners to access their payments directly from any bank branch across the country. This move is expected to improve convenience and efficiency for pensioners.
What EPFO 3.0 Means for Subscribers
The introduction of EPFO 3.0 marks an important step forward in modernizing the way retirement savings and pension payments are handled. With the new system, members will be able to access their funds more easily, whether through ATMs or online, and they will also benefit from improved system navigation.
The option to adjust pension contributions gives employees more control over their retirement savings. All these enhancements reflect EPFO’s commitment to creating a more convenient, transparent, and efficient system for its members.
