Fact Check: Truth behind viral claim of IIMC re-opening PG diploma in Urdu Journalism admission

A viral claim is doing rounds on social media which says that IIMC (Indian Institute of Mass Communication) has re-opened forms for PG Diploma in Urdu Journalism as the number of seats was not filled. Here's the truth!

The whole nation is currently fighting the wrath of coronavirus pandemic and due to which there has been extended nation-wide lockdown.

Amid the ongoing crisis, several school exams, national entrance exams, and college exams have been delayed or cancelled. In this case, the government and many institutes have put forward the idea of conducting online courses and examinations.

Recently, a viral claim is doing rounds on social media which says that IIMC (Indian Institute of Mass Communication) has re-opened forms for PG Diploma in Urdu Journalism as the number of seats was not filled in the first place.

There was another post which says about the admission forms of the new session and their dates.

FACT CHECK:

However, when we got into touch with Academic coordinator Shri Radhuvinder Kumar Chawla, he told us that this claim is totally false as the institute has not yet decided on the online exams and admission process of the coming session.

He also told that a big panel meeting is underway to decide upon the further course of action in lieu of admissions and online exams. The decision will be out in the coming week.
