Pakistan’s veteran pacer Shoaib Akhtar has claimed that his teammate Danish Kaneria faced discrimination at the hands of a few Pakistan players, who were reluctant to even eat with him because he is a Hindu.
He said in a statement, “Danish had been Hindu. So it had been unjust to him. Some players had reservations about the reason why he consumes meals with us?”
Ever since the revelations, a picture of the Pakistan cricket team during Inzamam-ul-Haq’s captaincy is doing rounds. The caption to the picture states ‘Hindu Danish Kaneria & Christian Yousuf Youhana were asked to offer Namaz.’

But the truth is that the picture doing rounds is false as Kanaria is not even in the picture and this picture is well after Yousuf converted to Islam and became Mohammad Yousuf. The piece of information was confirmed on Twitter by a verified user.

Another verified user confirmed the identity of the man who was referred to as Kaneria. In the extreme left of the photo is Abdul Rauf (Pak masseur) and not Danish Kaneria. Yousaf at the time of this photo was Mohammad Yousaf.
