The year 2019 saw a great mix of amazing web series that have reigned the digital platform. We saw a great mix of presentations such as Sacred Games, Made in Heaven, Delhi Crime, Inside Edge 2 that had a variation in perspective in terms of offering content. People preferred this kind of medium more because it provided the audience a different kind of visual material than the usual that is available.
It brought people shows of a certain kind that is not usual and generic in its storyline. Shows that are not in line with the conventional, “Saas Bahu line of serials” but are rather more real, less-drama driven content.

The wedding occurrences and the kind of snaps that they both had to go through when plans do not work in a certain way, is the magic that they bring to this show. The stars include Sushobhita Dhulipala, Arjun Mathur, Jim Sarbh and Kalki Kekhla. Its direction is done by Joya Akhtar, Alankrita Shrivastava, Nitya Mehra, and Prashant Nayar.
Delhi Crime
Richa Mehta’s Direction “Delhi Crime” is supposedly one of the most intense social message drama driven web series. It deals with the Nirbhaya Case which shook whole country. Shefali Shah’s realism put together the story nicely. She captivated the character she was doing. Her tension and the urgency that was oozing from her display worked well for this well blended social messaging cum thriller web content. It starred Shefali Shah, Rasika Dugal, Rajesh Tailang. It was directed by Richie Mehta.
The Family Man
The Investigative thriller of Family Man grips you in your seat. It had a great storyline, amazing acting, humor and a take on family affairs. Manoj Tiwari’s portrayal of a troubled family man can be well seen and he seems convinced to pull off this role. The investigative thriller is well acclaimed by critics and is quite popular among audiences.
Inside Edge season 2
Amazon Prime’s Inside Edge is a well-acclaimed storyline in the web world. It deals with the corruption issues persisting in the cricketing world. It quite tells you about the corruption inside in a much simplistic sense. The stars of Inside Edge include Richa Chadda, Vivek Oberoi, Amir Bashir, Tanuj Veerwani and Angad Bedi. It’s an Excel entertainment production that is co-owned by both Farhan Akhtar and Ritesh Sidhwani.
Kota Factory

It is a web series that is a murder mystery thriller. This hotstar backed show is usually the kind of thriller you need to engage in. It did have a mark in 2019. Its star cast includes Vikrant Massey, Anupriya Goenka and Jackie Schroff. It is directed by Timangshu Dhulia.
Bard of blood
Sharukh Khan’s production house Red Chillies Production’s “Bard of Blood” is one of its kind. Its an action thriller web show and it stars Imran Hashmi, Shobhita Dhulipala, Kirti Kulhari Sehgal. It’s a political espionage thriller. It follows a storyline of the deceit of four Indian Intelligence Officers who are severely compromised, later when the authorities realise they were about to be decapitated.
