A video claiming that the packaging of Tata Salt is being done under unhygienic conditions is doing rounds on social media. According to the purported video it can be seen that several packets of the brand are lying on the floor, while the processing of packaging is taking place manually.

It was claimed in the video that it is from Hyderabad’s Begum Bazar region.

The video has been falsely circulated with the false claim, the video instead is from a raid conducted by the Tata Salt team itself along with Punjab police against counterfeit operations in Dera Bassi, last week. In the raid, more than 6 workers were found packing spurious salt in Tata Salt company packets.

The brand clarified their stand in a Facebook post, it said, “Tata Salt is committed to providing our consumers with only the best quality products, which safeguard their health and wellness. We have always pro-actively worked with local law-enforcement authorities to identify and shut down counterfeit production units.”

“Tata Salt is produced from natural sea water using the technologically advanced Vacuum Evaporation process. We follow rigorous quality control protocols to ensure that a high-quality product is delivered to consumers, time and time again. This not only includes strict QC at the manufacturing location, but also in our distribution system, which includes warehouses.”
