February 1, 2019 – Surajkund Mela
Surajkund mela is held every year around the same time. The infamous mela was upgraded to international level in 2013 as 15 countries from Europe and Asia participated in the fair. The mela is graced by a large number of national and international artists and cultural groups thereby making it a colourful and most awaited festival of the year. This year the Mela will take place from Feb 1 to Feb 17 in Faridabad, Haryana. It is organized under the Haryana tourism in collaboration with union, textiles, tourism and external affair ministry.

February 2, 2019 – Kala Ghoda art festival, Mumbai
The very popular art festival of Mumbai, Kala Ghoda art festival is held every year and this year marks the 20th edition of the festival. Artist from all across the countries come together and participates in this festival. The festival aims to preserve the heritage and culture of India in the purest form. This year the festival will commemorate Mahatma Gandhi’s 150th birth anniversary.

February 4, 2019- World’s Cancer Day
Every year this day is marked as world’s cancer day and was founded by Union for International Cancer Control. The main aim of this day is to spread awareness among people regarding cancer and also to support the people suffering from it. It also aims to support the goals of the world’s cancer declaration written in 2008.

February 4, 2019- National day of Srilanka
Every year this day is graced as National day of Srilanka or Independence Day of Srilanka. The relevance behind this is that Srilanka got independence from British rule on Feb 4, 1948.

February 13, 2019- Sarojini Naidu’s Birth Anniversary
Sarojini Naidu also called the nightingale of India was the first Indian Woman president of the Indian National Congress. She was born on February 13, 1879, in Hyderabad and is marked as a prominent personality and poet.

February 14, 2019- Saint Valentine’s Day
The month of February is famous for this day and often quoted as the month of love. Valentine’s Day is celebrated around the globe in the name of Saint Valentine. The story behind it is that saint valentine, the Roman priest performed secret weddings against the wishes of the authority. Imprisoned in the home of a noble, he healed his captor’s blind daughter. Before being tortured and decapitated on February 14, he sent the girl a note signed ‘Your Valentine’ and that’s when the tradition started.

February 19, 2019- Taj Mahotsav
The Taj Mahotsav will be held from Feb 19 to Feb 27 in Agra. This festival is held to value and encourage the rich cultural heritage of India which is also amongst the Seven Wonders of the World, Taj Mahal.

February 21, 2019- International Mother Language Day
This day was first announced in 1999 by UNESCO to encourage the use of language on earth and the cultural diversity all around the globe.

February 24, 2019- Central Excise Day
Every year this day is witnessed as Central Excise day. This was started keeping in view the encouragement of excise department and to be away from corruption.

February 28, 2019- National Science day
The remarkable discovery of the Raman Effect by Indian physicist Sir Chandrasekhara Venkata Raman took place on February 28, 1928, and to mark this day, it is celebrated as National Science day every year. He was also honoured by Nobel prize in Physics subject in 1930.
