Fortnite Chapter 7 Updates: Chapter 7 known as “Pacific Break” dropped on November 29, 2025 as part of a major update following the flashy “Zero Hour” live event.
With this new chapter, the game shakes up the core Battle Royale experience:
The familiar Battle Bus is gone (at least for now). Instead, players “surf in” via a tsunami-style drop onto the new island.
The map is totally revamped “Pacific Break” brings in deserts, snowy mountains and 13 fresh POIs (points of interest) to explore.
The loot pool and gameplay mechanics have also been overhauled. Expect new weapon types and updated movement/ traversal mechanics.
In short: Chapter 7 is a big leap forward, reshaping the core “drop → fight → loot → survive” formula many players are used to.
Why Modes Like Ranked, Reload, Blitz, OG & Delulu Are Disabled For Now?
At the launch of Chapter 7, the developers behind Fortnite temporarily disabled several popular game modes: Ranked Mode, Reload, Blitz Royale, Fortnite OG, and Delulu.
The main reason? The in-game narrative event: the “Battle Bus” was destroyed by the antagonist (for immersion), and with the bus gone, the legacy drop-in mechanics that many of these modes rely on couldn’t function.
The temporary removal pushes players to experience the new Chapter 7 map and features. Many in the community reacted with mixed feelings. Some frustrated about losing favorite modes, but others curious to explore the new map and mechanics before the modes come back.
But don’t worry as the downtime is only temporary. The developers have already revealed a roadmap for bringing those modes back.
