The Kashmir Valley was blanketed in fresh snow on its higher reaches while the plains witnessed rainfall, leading to a sharp decline in temperatures, officials reported on Monday.
Snowfall was notably observed at Sinthan Top, Affarwat in Gulmarg, Zojila Pass, and other elevated areas within Kashmir.
Rainy conditions were prevalent in the plains, including in the capital, Srinagar.
The dip resulted in a significant temperature fall, with Srinagar recording a maximum of around 11 degrees Celsius, a dramatic drop from the previous day’s 22.6 degrees. The weather department has forecast continued precipitation for the next 24 hours.
