The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has decided ‘Garje Gujarat’ as its slogan for Gujarat assembly election 2017. It will be launched soon, said sources. The assembly polls in the state are scheduled to take place in December.

On 24 August, BJP president, Amit Shah appointed finance minister, Arun Jaitley as election in-charges for Gujarat. The BJP statement said, Jaitley will be assisted by Nirmala Sitharaman, Jitender Singh, N Tomar and PP Chaudhary.

Prime Minister, Narendra Modi will visit Gujarat at least twice in September with plans to showcase ambitious development projects. A number of planned events, including laying the grounds for the striving ‘bullet train’ and dedicating the Sardar Sarovar Dam to the nation, may set tone for the BJP’s campaign for Gujarat elections due this year.
