Uttarakhand Governor Baby Rani Maurya has ordered an inquiry after a girl student of GB Pant University of Agriculture and Technology, Pantnagar accused a hostel warden of calling on her phone midnight and asking to cook food.
“The Governor has taken serious note of the complaint from a girl in GB Pant Agriculture University hostel against a warden. Governor has directed university vice-chancellor to conduct inquiry and take strict action in the matter,” a statement from Governor’s office read.
University Public Relation officer Dr Bhaskar Tiwari said the V-C has ordered the Director (Administration) to conduct the probe, according to The Indian Express report. Tiwari said that inquiry has been ordered on the news reports which came out on Thursday.
A student of GB Pant University, Uttarakhand alleged that a university professor called her at midnight and asked her to come to his home for cooking as his wife was not at home.
The girl further alleged that one midnight the professor sent a text message wishing her on her birthday and then called her and said ‘my wife is not home, who will cook, you come’.
