Genesis Unveils X Skorpio Concept: The Genesis X Skorpio Concept serves as Hyundai’s luxury brand Genesis first extreme off-road vehicle which they created to navigate the most difficult environmental conditions which exist on Earth.
The launch event took place in the vast Rub’ al Khali “Empty Quarter” desert of the United Arab Emirates which showcased this design concept that showcases a complete transformation of Genesis design principles while the company seeks to achieve its goal of creating luxurious vehicles that perform exceptionally well in off-road conditions by introducing a brand new approach.
Genesis Unveils X Skorpio Concept
The January 2026 world premiere of Genesis introduced multiple prototype vehicles which established an operating framework for a new concept vehicle program that enhances the brand connection with customers who enjoy both outdoor adventures and sophisticated driving experiences.

The X Skorpio Concept displayed together with GV60 Outdoors GV70 Outdoors and GV80 Desert Edition rugged concept models which were designed to operate in extreme environmental conditions.
Design Inspiration

The name “Skorpio” draws direct inspiration from the black scorpion native to desert environments which represents unbreakable strength and the ability to change. The design of the vehicle uses this motif as its main element which drives its entire design language system.

The X Skorpio Concept uses external design elements which create tension through its curved lines and its segmented armor-style panels which represent a scorpion’s exoskeleton while the design elements also provide benefits which make it easier to fix the vehicle in extreme weather conditions.
The front and rear lamps of Genesis vehicles use Two-Line lighting design which creates an eye-catching appearance while delivering practical light output.

- The design uses V-shaped LED daytime running lights together with round LED headlights to create a unique visual appearance.

Under the Hood
Electric powertrains dominate the recent concept vehicle designs yet the X Skorpio Concept maintains its traditional roots with its powerful V8 engine. The engine achieves performance levels beyond standard luxury SUVs because it produces 1,100 horsepower (1,115 PS) and 850 lb-ft of torque.
The X Skorpio Concept uses Genesis power systems which require components found on endurance racing vehicles and Trophy Trucks.
The vehicle features 18-inch beadlock wheels which support custom 40-inch off-road tires that deliver exceptional traction during challenging terrains.
The system uses Brembo Motorsport brakes to achieve high-performance stopping capabilities.
The system provides high ground clearance together with its suspension system which enables the vehicle to navigate through rough terrain and execute airborne jumps.
The design provides wide approach and departure angles together with break-over angles which enable vehicles to navigate through extreme landscape situations without getting stuck.

Genesis maintains its brand signature of high-end comfort despite dedicating its design effort to developing robust vehicles. The X Skorpio Concept interior presents a new design for off-road spaces which combines luxury elements that enhance both comfort and operational efficiency.

The design includes seats which support ergonomic sitting positions to help users maintain energy during their extensive work-related travel.
The driver can see essential information through the steering wheel which contains the vehicle’s instrument display.
The system features a touchscreen display which operators can use to switch between solo and co-pilot navigation modes.
