Ghaziabad Lok Sabha constituency will see sitting Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Member of Parliament (MP) Vijay Kumar Singh contesting to retain his seat. While, Samajwadi Party leader Suresh Bansal will contest for the BSP-SP-RLD alliance. The Congress party has fielded Dolly Sharma.

The Lok Sabha elections in Uttar Pradesh will take place across seven phases, with eight constituencies to go for elections in the first phase on April 11, as announced by the Chief Election Commissioner Sunil Arora on March 10.

The Election Commission of India announced that the general elections will begin on April 11, with the last phase taking place on May 19, the results are slated to be announced on May 23.

Uttar Pradesh has a total of 80 Lok Sabha constituencies.

Elections in the Ghaziabad constituency will take place in the first phase of the General Elections 2019 on April 11.

There are five Assembly segments that fall under the Ghaziabad Lok Sabha constituency, namely, Loni, Muradnagar, Sahibabad, Ghaziabad and Dholana.

In 2009, current Home Minister Rajnath Singh won from this Lok Sabha constituency.

In the 2014 Lok Sabha elections BJP’ Vijay Kumar Singh defeated senior INC leader Raj Babbar.
