Pahlaj Nihalani was sacked from the post of Central Board of Film Certification chairman on Friday. “Yes, it is correct. Pahlaj Nihalani had to resign from his chairmanship. Recently there was a lot of friction in the working of the CBFC,” CBFC member and filmmaker Ashok Pandit told indianexpress.com.
Nihalani’s term as CBFC chief was always surrounded with controversies. Films like Udta Punjab, Lipstick Under My Burkha, Indu Sarkar and Babumoshai Bandookbaaz among others had to face the brunt of Nihalani’s stewardship. Here’s how Twitterati reacted on his removal from the post of CBFC chief:
