Small Savings Scheme Interest Rates: The government has decided not to make any changes to the interest rates for small savings schemes for the July to September 2025 period. This is now the 6th quarter in a row where the interest rates remain the same. It shows that the government wants to keep things steady, even though there have been many ups and downs in both global and Indian economies.

The Ministry of Finance shared this update in a new notification on Monday. It said that the interest rates for different small savings schemes from July 1 to September 30, 2025, will stay the same as what was fixed earlier for the April to June quarter. This decision brings relief to small investors who depend on these schemes for secure returns.

No Change in PPF, SSY, NSC Rates

The Public Provident Fund (PPF) will still give 7.1% interest, and the regular post office savings account will continue at 4%. These are two of the most common savings choices among people in India. For families saving for their daughters, the Sukanya Samriddhi Yojana (SSY) remains a strong option with 8.2% annual interest, which is one of the highest among all small savings options.

According to CNBC TV18, the National Savings Certificate (NSC) will also keep offering 7.7% for this quarter. These schemes are popular, especially in middle-class homes and rural areas, because they are easy to access through post offices and government banks. People find them safe, simple, and helpful for long-term savings goals.

Other key rates include:

  • Kisan Vikas Patra (KVP): 7.5% with a maturity period of 115 months
  • Three-Year Term Deposit: 7.1%
  • Monthly Income Scheme: 7.4%

The government had last changed these interest rates back in the fourth quarter of financial year 2023–24. Since then, the rates have stayed the same, even tho the bond yields and inflation numbers have been going up and down.
