Gujarat: AMC increases survey team strength, now 500 teams to identify COVID-19 cases

AMC currently has 10 temperature guns and they have requested Gujarat government to give them more guns to trace COVID-19 suspect cases faster

The coronavirus cases have intensified in the Ahmedabad city, In wake of this, the Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation (AMC) has increased its survey team’s strength by almost four times.

From its earlier batch of 136 teams now it has increased to 500. These teams visit households to identify suspect cases of coronavirus so that they can be quarantined and treated.

The teams will ensure that the survey is conducted in both the working zone and ward wise, also including the slums, over the next several weeks.

The members of the task force have been endowed with duties doing follow-ups in their clusters and check if anyone has a fever or any kind of medical problem so as to address it immediately.

Vijay Nehra, Municipal Commissioner says in his media statement, “Commenting on the development, Ahmedabad Municipal Commissioner Vijay Nehra said, “Reason for increasing the task force is to get better results. We have fixed their responsibility by dividing them zone and ward wise.”

As far as determining authentic feedback and results is concerned, the teams have been given temperature guns. According to an official, AMC currently has 10 temperature guns and they have requested Gujarat government to give them more guns to trace COVID-19 suspect cases faster.
