The states of Punjab and Haryana have been put on high alert ahead of the CBI court’s verdict in Dera Sacha Sauda chief, Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh rape case of 2002. Singh will appear in a court for judgment in Panchkula.

Several of Ram Rahim’s followers have descended on the city. This has aroused fear of violence after the verdict comes. While 22 trains in Haryana have been canceled, mobile internet services, buses, have been suspended for next 72 hours.

Haryana High Court directed the state government on Thursday to make essential efforts to maintain peace in the state.

“We don’t want a situation like that during Jat agitation to take place in Haryana,” HC had said.

Post this, Haryana additional chief secretary, Ram Niwas told media that they have installed central paramilitary forces, around 50,000 personnel of Haryana Police in Panchkula to maintain order in the state.

“Video recording each event, putting drones for making surveillance, have sounded the Army, in case of need, can also call Army,” Ram Niwas said.

In both the states, more than 15,000 paramilitary personnel were deployed. “Decided to set up joint control rooms in Punjab & Haryana for better coordination; bus services to Chandigarh already suspended,” Niwas said.

“We are with Guru Ji, we have full faith in God that justice will be in our favor,” one follower told ANI. “Our Guru can never do wrong, we support him. We will remain calm until the verdict comes,” said another.
