As Trisha Krishnan, the famous actor of Tollywood completes 16 successful years in the industry with films like ‘Saamy’ and ‘Ghilli’ in her kitty she has established herself as one of the leading lady. Starting as a supporting actor in a film like ‘Jodi’, Trisha shot to fame after starring in major films like ‘Mounam Pesiyadhe’. As Trisha Krishnan celebrates her birthday today, lets see some lesser known fun facts about the actress.

Early life and beauty contests

At the tender age of sixteen Trisha won the Miss Madras title and participated in plethora of beauty pageants. Originally form Chennai, Trisha completed her education from the famous Sacred Heart Martriculation School in Church Park. She actually aspired to become a criminal psychologist and pursued her degree from Ethiraj College in Chennai. Trisha later even went onto become one of the finalists in the Miss India competition however she did not win the title. Soon, she got an opportunity to act in ‘Lesa Lesa’ Trisha’s debut film by Priyadarshan. She won accolades for her performance it the same film. But it was films like ‘Ghilly’ and ‘Saamy’ that shot Trisha to stardom.

Bollywood films

For Priyadarshan’s Hindi film ‘Khatta Meetha’ Trisha was signed and was the leading lady for the same owing to her growth and stardom in the Southern industry. She was paired opposite superstar Akshay Kumar in this comedy hindi debut movie, however the film boomed at the box-office and was critiqued a lot for it’s lack of story line. Trisha’s performance however was applauded as she won the Best Debut Actress Award for the movie. Unlike Tollywood, Trisha was unable to cash popularity in Bollywood and hence she didn’t sign any further projects. But a lot of her films from Tollywood were dubbed in Hindi instead.

Mama’s girl and love for animals

Trisha and her mother are an inseparable duo who are clicked together at several events and red carpets. Her mom Uma also manages her work schedules sometimes. Trisha has been the Goodwill Ambassador for animal NGO as well as for animal centre which was organised by another NGO. She got into trouble after tweeting about Jallikattu, the bull taming sport. Kamal Hassan was the one who came to her rescue and asked people not to hurt Trisha. She is known for her close association with her dog Cadbury.

Trisha has a inclination towards adventure activities as a picture of her scuba diving went viral recently. Trisha also loves to travel to as many countries as possible. Her favourite city is New York apart from Chennai. The actress grew a liking for New York after doing a romantic film ‘Vinnaithaandi Varuvaaya’ there. The actress forges new frontiers every day with great interest.

Trisha has worked with the A list top actors of the southern industry. She has two films with Kamal Hassan in her kitty ‘Manmadhan Ambu’ and ‘Thoongavanam’. She has also worked with Tamil actors Vijay and Ajith in films like ‘Thirupachi’ and ‘Mankatha’ to name a few. Trisha has been successful in Telugu industry and has worked with top stars like Chiranjeevi, Mahesh Babu, Prabhas, Siddharth and Venkatesh. Several films of Trisha in Telugu industry have been extremely successful at the box-office.

Promising career

Trsiah has alawasy been choosy with her scripts be it ‘Thoongavanam’ or ‘Kodi’. Reveling in the success of the Malyalam drama ‘Hey Jude’ Trisha has a promising line-up this year. She is waiting the release of her thriller ‘Sathuranga Vettai’ with actor Arvind Swami. Trisha has been roped in to play the lead role in the horror-thriller ‘Mohini’. Apart from these two, the actress also has releases like ‘96’ with Vijay Sethupathi and ‘1818’. Later this year, she will be seen in ‘Garjani’, which is a remake of the Bollywood hit ‘NH10’.
