Accepting that there is an outer power, a different type of civilisation outside this solar system can be hard for many, but when renowned scientists come up with explanations as to why one thing is happening, it surely makes you question things.
However, to date, scientists have not accepted that there is another source in the solar system, rather in totality have ignored facts and evidence. Well, that’s the premise behind the new book by a top astronomer, Avi Loeb, who argues that the simplest and best explanation for the highly unusual characteristics of an interstellar object that sped through our solar system in 2017 is that it was alien technology.
Many would believe it to be false news or having no basis, but as per Avi Loeb, evidence suggests otherwise. He believes that his peers are so consumed by the group overthink of aliens not existing that they have been ignorant of the evidence.
Avi Loeb’s book which has opened our minds to new questions about alien civilisation and other abnormal things was the longest-serving chair of astronomy at Harvard has published hundreds of pioneering papers, and has collaborated with greats like the late Stephen Hawking, which make it difficult to dismiss outright.
In a video call with a leading daily to discuss the new book, Loeb said that “ Thinking that we are unique and special and privileged is arrogant, the correct approach is to be modest and say: ‘We’re nothing special, there are lots of other cultures out there, and we just need to find them.'”
Talking about the 2017 evidence on alien life passing through our planet, which Loeb focused on what was that – In October 2017, astronomers observed an ‘object’ moving so fast, it could only have come from another star — this was the first recorded interstellar interloper.
The alien vessel didn’t seem to be an ordinary rock, because after slingshotting around the Sun, it sped up and deviated from the expected trajectory, propelled by a mysterious force. Now, there can be many explanations which people came up with, among one being it must be a comet, but as per Loeb, “If it was a comet expelling gas and debris, but there was no visible evidence of this “outgassing.”
Also, the object tumbled in the telescope of many scientists- brighter and dimmer and was unusually dimmer, which also was inferred by many to be made of some shiny bright metal. In order to explain what was it, Astronomers came up with various reasons- hydrogen ice, comet, etc but none accepted an alien vessel argument.
In the end, Loeb in his conversation said that we have many threats be it climate change or nuclear attack, but we can’t ignore a threat from the outer world as well. So we should all collaborate to find evidence and fight against any risks which can come our way.
