Haryana: Ajay Chuatala expels from INLD amidst family feud

Chandigarh: Om Prakash Chautala’s eldest son Ajay Chautala is expelled from the party and shown the door from the Indian National Lok Dal (INLD). An announcement regarding his ouster was made by his brother Abhay Chautala on Wednesday.

INLD is facing a serious family feud which may lead to a split in the party. The simmering rivalry which was brewing over a month between the brothers in Chautala family, finally ended in expelling the elder one out of the party.

Ajay Chautala and Om Prakash Chautala are serving their jail terms after being convicted in a corruption case.

Indian National Lok Dal state unit chief Ashok Arora made the announcement of expulsion decision in the presence of Abhay Chautala on Wednesday.

Earlier Dushyant and Digvijay Chautala were also expelled from the party by INLD chief OP Chautala for their anti-party activities.

Both are great-grandsons of former Deputy Prime Minister Devi Lal. Both have been expelled from the primary membership of the party with immediate effect.

“Both Dushyant Chautala and Digvijay Singh had been accused of indiscipline, hooliganism and spreading disaffection within the party against the party leadership during the birthday celebrations of Chaudhary Devi Lal in Gohana on October 7,” an INLD statement earlier said.

Chautala’s elder son Ajay Chautala, who came out from the Tihar Jail on Monday on parole, told his supporters in New Delhi that the next course of action would be decided in the coming days after he completes a tour of Haryana.

Ajay Chautala was extensively meeting people on his tour of the state and was trying to mobilise supporters in his support. He has called for a public rally on  November 17 in Jind.
