The polls results of 90 legislative constituencies in Haryana will be declared today, on October 24. The polling to decide the government for the next term in the state took place on October 21 in which 65 per cent of the eligible voters cast there vote, a slump from the last elections’ numbers of 76.54 per cent.
While most of the exit polls present a grim picture for the Congress and JJP, the India Today-Axis My India Exit Poll 2019 has predicted hung assembly in Haryana as no party is seen getting the majority on its own. According to the survey, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is expected to win 32-44 seats, Congress 30-42 and Dushyant Chautala’s Jannayak Janata Party (JJP) is expected to win 6-10 seats.
In the 2014 Haryana assembly election, the BJP had won 47 seats in the 90-member assembly, the Indian National Lok Dal (INLD) won 19 seats, the Congress won 15 seats, while others won 9 seats.
After initial bout of counting, BJP-Shiv Sena alliance has crossed the halfway majority mark in Maharashtra, while according to early trends, Haryana seems to be heading towards a hung assembly. Dushyant Chautala, JJP leader, earlier today said that the JJP would be the kingmaker.
