An MP from Sirsa and Haryana Congress chief, Ashok Tanwar has asked to maintain peace in the state amid rising violence that took lives of 31 people so far and left hundreds of people injured in the state. The violence erupted in Haryana after the rape conviction of Dera Sacha Sauda chief, Gurmeet Ram Rahim on Friday.
“I appeal to the supporters of Dera Sacha Sauda chief, Haryana and Sirsa people to have faith in judiciary,” Tanwar appealed in a short clip he posted on twitter.

The Sirsa MP also slammed state government for deteriorating law and order situation saying, “In Haryana brotherhood, Social harmony, Integrity, Law & order is in great danger n @mlkhattar is responsible for the same #KhattarMustResign.”

The situation “is tense but under control”, the union home ministry said on Saturday. “As per Panchkula Control Room in Haryana, the situation in Panchkula and Sirsa is very tense but under control,” a home ministry spokesperson said.
There were reports that 31 people have lost their lives since Friday in Haryana. The headquarters of the sect led by Ram Rahim Singh are in Sirsa.
