Haryana: Man arrested for spreading fake news of COVID-19 infected Tablighi fleeing from hospital in Yamunanagar

Ever since Coronavirus pandemic is on the rise in India, the fake news around it has been spreading and authorities are having a tough time. In a similar incident, a man was arrested for spreading hoax of COVID-19 infected Tablighi fleeing from the hospital in Yamunanagar, Haryana.

The twitter handle of Haryana’s Yamunanagar Police tweeted about fake news spread by the man and informed about he getting arrested.

The accused is identified as Pratik Bhardwaj who has been arrested for putting a false post on Facebook about two Corona infected Tablighi Jamaat member fleeing from the hospitals in Yamunanagar district.


With 45 infected people, including 7 new cases, state’s Nuh (Mewat) district has the maximum number of coronavirus patients, followed by 32 in Gurugram, 31 in Faridabad and 29 in Palwal.

At present, the state has a total of 151 active coronavirus patients and 26 patients have been cured and discharged and two patients have died, the bulletin reads.

However, the health department officials said that the fresh samples of the new patients will be sent for the second test.

With the government likely to take a decision on the extension of the lockdown, the first coronavirus patients have been reported in Yamunanagar and Kurukshetra districts.

Chief Medical Officer, Yamunanagar, Vijay Dahiya said that two persons of Mumidi village have tested positive.
