Himachal Pradesh: Spanish paraglider Jose Lewis is rescued from Kangra

Kangra: Spanish paraglider Jose Lewis is rescued successfully this morning from Thumsar Pass area of Kangra valley where he was spotted on Tuesday. Jose was reported missing from Bir Billing takeoff point in Kangra valley of Himachal Pradesh since Saturday.

“Spanish paraglider rescued this morning, successfully lifted up in Bir, Kangra,” says Sub Divisional Magistrate of Baijnath area Vikas Shukla.

The paraglider was missing since Sunday and was spotted yesterday by the rescue team.

Lewis 40, along with 3 other paragliders from Russia and Latvia took off from the Bir Billing spot and went missing, whether his other three companions were recovered by the rescue team and were admitted to the hospital.

Bir Billing is the highest take-off point in the world for paragliding and attracts the sports enthusiast from the world over. Himachal Pradesh’s Bir Billing is also hosting the Pre-world cup paragliding competition scheduled from October 26, and the participants from all across the world have reached to take part in the competition.
