House of the Dragon Season 3 India Release: The next chapter of House of the Dragon is almost here. HBO has now set the release plan for Season 3, and fans in India finally know when the story will come back on screen. The show is the Game of Thrones prequel, and it is going deeper into the ugly civil war inside House Targaryen. The new season is set to stream in India on June 22, 2026, on JioHotstar.
This season is expected to be a heavy one. The war between Rhaenyra and Aegon is growing bigger, and the battle for the Iron Throne is turning far more brutal. HBO’s own Season 3 page says the Targaryen sides are entering a war “like no other,” with dragons, armies, and power struggles all moving toward a bigger clash.

What Season 3 is about?
The story is still based on George R. R. Martin’s Fire & Blood and sits about 200 years before Game of Thrones. At its core, it is about the fight that begins after King Viserys I names Rhaenyra as heir. That choice splits the family and sets off the long Targaryen civil war known as the Dance of the Dragons.
Rhaenyra is trying to grow her side by bringing in more dragon riders, but that also brings doubt because not everyone can be trusted. Aemond Targaryen is holding power in King’s Landing, and that is making fear spread among both allies and ordinary people. Daemon Targaryen is also gathering force in the Riverlands, which pushes the conflict toward a much bigger and darker fight.
The teaser also includes the line, “power no man has ever wielded.” That line points to how huge Rhaenyra’s position has become, and how dangerous the coming war will be. The new season is being framed as the point where the conflict stops simmering and starts burning openly.
Cast
The returning cast includes Emma D’Arcy as Rhaenyra Targaryen, Matt Smith as Daemon Targaryen, Olivia Cooke as Alicent Hightower, and Ewan Mitchell as Aemond Targaryen. Other familiar names such as Rhys Ifans, Steve Toussaint, and Tom Glynn-Carney are also part of the season, along with new characters joining the mess of the war.
