Things to know about Bing AI Website and App

1. Use the lens symbol on Bing’s prompt box to add an image. You can upload an image from device storage, share a link, or take a picture with the device’s camera.

2. The Bing AI app also offers the multimodal prompt feature (text and visual).

3. Microsoft’s Bing AI has also implemented the multimodal prompt capability, fast following Bard’s lead. Users can now add images to prompts and ask questions about them, so to speak. Bing and Bard have both had the ability to produce images for some time. And right now, the inclusion of image questions opens up a new, more visual way to communicate with the Bing AI chatbot.

The instructions in the guide that follows will demonstrate how to add multimodal (text and image-based) prompts to Bing AI and how, in certain ways, it may be superior to its rivals. Let’s start.

How to Add an Image to a Prompt on Bing AI Website and App

Bing has developed its features with a notable level of sophistication, taking into account the various ways users may wish to use it, thanks to its competitive advantage in the AI chatbot race. Here’s how to include an image in your Bing AI prompt:

Within the Edge browser:

  • Launch the Edge browser and Bing. then select Chat in the top menu.
  • Check out the taskbar itself, which is one of the quicker methods to reach Bing. There are other options as well.
  • To add a picture, select the lens symbol (“Add an image”) next to the prompt box while you’re on the chat page.
  • You have three choices here:
  1. Embed picture url
  2. Upload with this gadget
  3. Take a picture
  • You may quickly add an image to a prompt using any of the three choices. Therefore, if you have the image URL, enter it in the space provided.
  • Bing will recognise and upload the image as soon as you submit the image URL.
  • Alternately, select Upload from this device if you already have the image on your computer.
  • Then click Open after choosing your image.
  • Your photograph will be posted immediately, like previously.
  • Alternatively, you can select capture a photo to use your webcam to capture a picture.
  • If asked, select Allow to give Bing access to your camera.
  • After that, click the blue dot at the bottom to take and upload an image.
  • The prompt will upload your image.
  • Finally, type any words you like in the field provided to ask questions regarding the uploaded image, then click “Send.”

The Bing AI will begin analysing the images and give you the pertinent information.

Bing AI – iOS and Android

After installing Bing AI, launch it by tapping on the Bing logo (Chat) at the bottom.

  1. Tap once more on the lens icon that is located to the right of the prompt box.
  2. Your camera will then be opened. You have the option to either take a photograph right away or select one from the gallery option on the left here.
  3. Point the device at the thing you wish to take a picture of, then hit the bottom-positioned circular shutter symbol.
  4. The photograph will be taken as soon as you do this and submitted to your Bing prompt.
  5. Alternatively, tap the square on the left to use an image from your device.
  6. Pick a gallery-oriented app.
  7. To select an image, tap on it.
  8. And it will be uploaded to the prompt box of Bing AI.
  9. Now just enter the query you like to ask regarding the image and press Send and hear back from Bing.

The app doesn’t have a specific option for adding a picture from a URL. But you may also just enter the image link in the prompt and inquire about the picture.

Bing will operate as usual, but the chat window’s picture preview won’t be shown.

How to Use the Windows Taskbar Search in Bing AI

Although Bard launched the multimodal prompt feature a few days earlier than Bing AI did, the latter’s approach is by much superior.

Using the webcam on your computer to submit pictures and entering image URLs are two features that Bard, which can only upload pictures as files, does not yet provide. Bing lets you upload pictures using both the webcam on your computer and image URLs.

The benefit of having an official Bing app: Bard can only be accessed through a phone browser when utilising chatbots on smartphones because it doesn’t have an official app. As a result, if you want to submit an image, your browser could not use your device’s gallery app and instead use the native file manager to locate the images, which could be a little problematic for some. With the help of its official Bing app, Bing gains a distinct advantage in this area.

The superiority of Bing’s GPT-4 architecture over Bard’s PaLM 2 (Pathways Language Model) architecture is also well known.

Identifying images with faces: Bing is also capable of recognising photographs that contain faces. Even Bing Chat itself claims they are hidden by it.

However, Bard does not have such a feature, and it flatly declines to analyse such photographs.

Although Bing implemented visual suggestions a few days later than Google Bard, it did so much better. Bing has established a certain advantage for itself with three distinct methods for uploading photographs and the capacity to recognise faces in images on the Edge browser and the Bing AI app.

We sincerely hope that this guide will help you add multimodal prompts to the Bing AI chat. Up until then!
