Hyderabad: Two youths arrested for hurling petrol bombs at place of worship

Hyderabad: Two youths have been held by police on Monday night after they threw petrol bombs at a place of worship. As far as the police reports are to be believed, the accused duo had been actively taking part in CAA/NRC protests, damaged an ATM centre and an RTC bus before targeting the place of worship.

Task Force team had nabbed the serial offenders from their houses in Chandrayangutta and handed them over to Madannapet police to keep them under judicial remand.

“The accused have confessed to committing the offences. They will be produced before the magistrate,” Madannapet police said.

A case under the following sections 295-A (deliberate and malicious acts, intended to outrage religious feelings of any class by insulting its religion or religious beliefs) of IPC registered against the duo.

A secretary looking after a worship place in Madannapet had lodged a complaint with police on March 14, alleging that some unidentified persons had hurled a petrol bomb into the worship place premises.
