Hyundai i20 wins Indian Car of the year while Royal Enfield Meteor bags IMOTY 

The Hyundai i20 got 104 points, as it bagged the Indian Car of The Year award. Kia Sonnet, Mahindra Thar got the second and third positions with 91 and 78 points respectively.

Hyundai New Generation i20 won the Indian Car of the Year award at a glittering ceremony here in Delhi. Royal Enfield Meteor bags Indian Motorcycle of the Year award.

Land Rover got the award in the premium car segment. While Tata Nexon was awarded the green car of the year. During the voting process, each jury member had 25 points. These points were used as votes and 5 cars were shortlisted where one car was finally declared as the winner. This was the 16th year of the event and it was for the very first time that the votes of the jury were digitally recorded.

Talking about the green category, the Nexon EV got 106 points and secured first place. Land Rover got 108 points in the premium car category and won the section. The Mercedes-Benz GLE and BMW 2 series got 77 and 61 points in the premium section.

The Hyundai i20 got 104 points, as it bagged the Indian Car of The Year award. Kia Sonnet, Mahindra Thar got the second and third positions with 91 and 78 points respectively.

The starting price of the new Hyundai i20 is Rs 6.80 lakh (New Hyundai i20 Price). The car comes in both petrol and diesel engine options. It has been marketed in four variant levels – Magna, Sportz, Asta, and Asta (O). The new Hyundai i20 is bigger than the older model and equipped with many great features.

The Royal Enfield Meteor 350 won the prestigious Indian Motorcycle of the Year 2021 (IMOTY 2021) award. Other contenders vying for the coveted prize were the Hero Passion Pro, Hero Glamour, Hero Xtreme 160R, Honda Hornet 2.0, Bajaj Dominar 250, Husqvarna Svartpilen 250 and the KTM 390 Adventure.

Shubhranshu Singh, Global Head – Marketing at Royal Enfield said, “I am privileged and humbled to receive this award on behalf of the entire Royal Enfield team. This has been an exceptional year and it is testimony to the great teamwork that in extraordinary times we received this extraordinary recognition.”
