If you obtain accounts in E-Vijaya and e-dena banks, then you have to change your IFSC codes as Bank of Baroda has announced that e-Dena and e-Vijaya IFSC codes are going to be discontinued from March 1, 2021. The customers of the following banks are required to download new IFSC codes to carry out online banking operations.

What is an IFSC code?

Indian Financial System Code ( IFSC Code) is an eleven-character code assigned by RBI. It is used for unique identification of every bank branch that has been associated with the NEFT system in India. This code is therefore used in electronic payment system applications such as RTGS, NEFT and CFMS.

The code consists of 11 characters, the first part consists of the first four alphabet characters depicting the Bank. Then comes ‘0’ which is reserved for future use. The last six characters are the branch code.

New IFSC codes for the erstwhile Dena and Vijaya bank branches can easily be obtained, as it is very easy to download new IFSC code by following the below-mentioned steps.

How to obtain new IFSC code?

To download new IFSC code, follow the steps given below:

  • The customers can either visit the BOB’s website or scan the QR code on the website.
  • Bank account holders can also call the amalgamation bank’s helpdesk or visit the branch or use the SMS facility. The helpline number is 18002581700.
  • For SMS, you can send it to 8422009988 from your registered mobile number in the format “MIGR (space) last 4 digits of old account number”.

By following these above-mentioned 3 simple steps you will get your new IFSC code.
