According to Forbes magazine, Indians have the most faith in their government.

The latest edition of the OECD’s Government at a Glance report states that India tops the list with 73% Indians having confidence in the Narendra Modi-led NDA coalition. This percentage is the highest in the world.

The second in the list is the Canadian government headed by Prime Minister, Justin Trudeau. It has the confidence of 62% citizens.

It is followed by Turkey in third place with 58% of the citizens placing its trust in the Erdogan government.

Russia and Germany enjoy confidence levels at 58% and 55% respectively.

The US government led by President Donald Trump secured only 30% of the peoples’ confidence, while the confidence level of the United Kingdom government stands at 41%.

South Korea lost its confidence in the leadership of President Park Geun-hye, after she was recently impeached following a corruption scandal. Faith in her leadership has been reduced to 25%. Greece has a mere faith of 13% in its government.

Generally, government trust levels are determined by whether or not people consider their government stable and reliable. It is also judged by if or not the government can effectively deliver public services and also if it is able to protect its citizens from any kind of risk.
