India’s First Solar-Powered Cycling Track: The first solar cycling track in India, Healthway, was inaugurated on October 1 by the Hyderabad Metropolitan Development Authority (HMDA).

With over 16,000 solar panels, the Healthway Track can generate up to 16 MW of power. The 23-kilometer-long, three-lane cycling path features bicycle and automobile parking, food vendors, restrooms, and more. It is 4.5 meters wide and has five recreational centers in the center.

The solar cycling track includes a blue line, a pink line, and an entrance to the Telangana State Police Academy (TSPA). Information and Technology Minister K T Rama Rao introduced the newly opened solar cycling track in a video post on X (previously Twitter), tagging: Introducing India’s first and only 23 km long, 3-laned, 16 MW solar power-generating highway, second in the world after South Korea (solar rooftop covered).
According to our sources, the cycling track will be accessible 24 hours a day. The path will provide cyclists with a pleasant journey through the cityscape.
