Instagram is currently testing out a new feature that will allow users to mark other users as ‘favourites’. This feature was initially spotted by Alessandro Paluzzi. He posted several screenshots showing how this feature could look-like.
Palazzo claims that this feature will appear on the top of the feed, giving the users the option to customise their feed.

Instagram has not yet confirmed this feature.
Separately, Instagram recently ditched the ‘swipe-up’ feature on Stories. Instead, users now have a new link sticker. The company has been testing this feature since June. This feature was rolled out on August 30.
In 2017, Instagram was also testing a feature where users could select the people who could view their post. Later, the image-sharing social media platform decided to launch a “close friends” feature for Stories. With the help of this, Instagram users can select a certain group of close friends who can exclusively view stories shared by the user. This also ensures that the people in the close friends’s list view the story ahead of other stories.
