Invest in new types of infra; massive investment opportunity in aviation: Sinha

Minister of State for Civil Aviation Jayant Sinha urged investors to think of new types of infrastructure in India such as ports and waterways at the ‘IVCA’s Annual India Alternatives Conclave 2017,’ that kicked off on Monday at the Grand Hotel, Vasant Kunj, New Delhi.

The Indian Private Equity and Venture Capital Association Conclave (IVCA) is the perfect forum for deliberating on a range of ongoing issues. Newsd is associated with the Indian Private Equity and Venture Capital Association for the IVCA Conclave 2017 and is an Associate Partner for the event.

“Banks have become stronger and digital payments gone up due to demonetization,” said the minster at the conclave.  Sinha also stressed that “Inland waterways, logistics are interesting area to invest in and said there is a need of a series of domestic limited partnerships in India.”

“Nearly $10 to 12 billion of equity is required for just airport financing. The sectors have massive investment opportunities,” he added.

While talking about the sector’s standing and achievement, he said, “With passenger growth of over 20 per cent for last 3 years, we are the third largest aviation industry in world. I urge you to think of new types of infra in India such as ports and waterways.”

“Industry in India has really come of age,” Sinha added.

The two-day ‘IVCA’s Conclave’ will draw attention to alternate investment opportunities in India along with focusing on investment opportunities in the sectors of infrastructure, energy, and other growing segments. The focus of the conclave will be to review Indian economy and role of private capital.

The key focus of the conclave will be to review of Indian economy and role of private capital; the importance of AIFs and future of taxation: the Private Sector Perspective; start-up report launch and discussion; infrastructure investing in India: outlook for 2017; limited partners move to increase India allocations to invest – will the allocations rise; opportunities in credit and venture debt and private debt: will it help fill in the funding gap etc.
