iPhone 15's Battery Game-Changer

iPhone 15’s Battery Game-Changer: When we first heard rumors about a new iPhone battery health feature that would enable users to limit maximum battery charge, it had been the previous year. Since the iPhone 15 series is now official, we now have confirmation of the exact nature of the new feature. As previously stated, it will not allow you to choose a custom battery charge limit. Instead, you can designate an absolute limit of 80%.

How to Limit iPhone 15’s Battery Charge to 80%?

Yesterday, Allison Johnson of The Verge hosted a Q&A regarding the new iPhone 15 series. During this session, Joe Rossignol of MacRumors posed a query about the iPhone 15’s battery charge limit.

In response to the query, Johnson stated that the iPhone 15 series now has three battery health settings. There are three options available: Optimized Battery Charging, 80% limit, and None. Settings > Battery > Battery Health & Charging > Charging Optimization provides access to these options.

The newly added 80% limit setting will allow users to establish a strict limit of 80% for charging their iPhone 15 battery. This is beneficial for users who prefer to charge their devices only up to 80% for an improved battery expectancy. It will eliminate the need to repeatedly examine your iPhone to see if its battery has reached 80%.

This differs from the Optimized Battery Charging functionality already present. This is because this setting temporarily suspends charging once the battery reaches 80% capacity. It does not completely cease charging and charges from 80% to 100% at a relatively slower rate. If the user does not wish to utilize any of these battery health parameters, he can simply select “None.”

A Chinese regulatory website recently disclosed the battery capacities of the iPhone 15 series. Compared to their respective previous-generation models, the capacity of all four models has been slightly increased.

  • iPhone 15 now has a 3,349mAh battery, up from 3,279mAh.
  • iPhone 15 Plus now has a 4,383mAh battery, up from 4,325mAh.
  • iPhone 15 Pro now has a 3,274mAh battery, up from 3,200mAh.
  • iPhone 15 Pro Max now has a 4,422mAh battery, up from 4,323mAh.
