IPL 2026 Delhi Capitals: Delhi Capitals had a rollercoaster ride in IPL 2025. They began the season strong with four back-to-back wins but lost their rhythm halfway. In the end, they just missed out on a playoff spot and finished fifth on the table with 15 points. Now as IPL 2026 auction comes closer, DC is expected to shake things up and might release some players who didn’t do well.

Here are a few names that could be on their way out:

Jake Fraser-McGurk

Jake Fraser-McGurk didn’t have a great season. Even though DC bought him back for ₹9 crore using the Right-To-Match card during the last mega auction, he didn’t perform like the team hoped. In IPL 2025, he scored only 55 runs in six matches and had a strike rate of just 105.77. Because of this, he was dropped from the playing XI.

In total, Jake has played 15 IPL matches so far and scored 385 runs. He has an average of 25.67 and a strike rate of 199.48.

Mukesh Kumar

Indian pacer Mukesh Kumar was another big buy for Delhi last year. They spent ₹8 crore on him using the Right-To-Match card during the 2025 mega auction. But Mukesh also didn’t deliver what the team expected. He took 12 wickets in 12 games, but his economy rate was very high 10.32. He especially struggled in the death overs, which cost the team in a few close matches.

Looking at his overall record in IPL, Mukesh has taken 36 wickets in 32 matches with an economy of 10.39. While he’s got experience, DC may now search for a better fast bowler who can bowl tight overs at the end of the innings.

Faf du Plessis

Even though Faf du Plessis is a big name in world cricket, age is not on his side now. His batting wasn’t consistent in IPL 2025. He was brought in to give experience and balance to the batting lineup, but he couldn’t make a big impact during the season. With DC looking to build a stronger team for the future, there’s a chance they might let go of Faf and invest in a younger overseas batter with more energy and long-term value.

Rasikh Salam

Rasikh Salam is a young fast bowler but didn’t get too many chances to prove himself in the last season. Even when he played, his performance wasn’t very convincing. With competition getting tougher and other young bowlers doing better, Rasikh might not find a place in the squad again. The franchise may use that spot to bring in a more promising or consistent Indian pacer in the next auction.
