IPL 2026 Auction: The IPL 2026 mini-auction will take place in Abu Dhabi on December 16, and it will start at 1 pm UAE time, which means 2:30 pm IST. A total of 350 players will go under the hammer. All ten IPL teams will spend around Rs 237.55 crore as they try to fill 77 empty slots. Out of these slots, 31 are for overseas players. The list has 240 Indian players and 110 overseas players, and many of them are uncapped.

How will the Auction move Forward
The auction will begin with all the capped players. The order will be batters first, then all-rounders, then wicketkeepers, then fast bowlers, and finally spinners. After this first round is over, the uncapped players will come in. Once the auction reaches player number 70, the accelerated part of the auction will start.
After the teams can give the names of unsold players they want to bring back for more quick rounds. The list also gives a clear picture of the mix: 16 capped Indian players, 96 capped overseas players, 224 uncapped Indian players, and 14 uncapped overseas players.

Big Names in the High Base Price
The highest base price in the auction is Rs 2 crore. A total of 40 players chose this top bracket. Two Indians, Venkatesh Iyer and Ravi Bishnoi, are part of this group. Many overseas stars are also listed in the same bracket. There are nine players at Rs 1.5 crore, four at Rs 1.25 crore, 17 at Rs 1 crore, 42 at Rs 75 lakh, four at Rs 50 lakh, seven at Rs 40 lakh, and 227 players at Rs 30 lakh.
Cameron Green appears in the list as a batter who can bowl right-arm fast, and he has a base price of Rs 2 crore. Devon Conway also sits at Rs 2 crore in this group, listed as a left-handed batter. Jake Fraser-McGurk is another young name in the Rs 2 crore bracket. Indian batters Sarfaraz Khan and Prithvi Shaw are also in the opening batter set at a base price of Rs 75 lakh.
Wicketkeepers and Bowlers
The wicketkeeper group has Quinton de Kock at a base price of Rs 1 crore. His name appears as a left-handed wicketkeeper-batter. Rahmanullah Gurbaz stands in the same group with a base price of Rs 1.5 crore. The final list added some players after teams asked for it. One of them is de Kock, and the others include Dunith Wellalage and George Linde.

Among the bowlers, Ravi Bishnoi appears as a leg-spinner at a base price of Rs 2 crore. Matheesha Pathirana joins the fast-bowling group with a Rs 2 crore base price. Anrich Nortje is also in the Rs 2 crore list as a right-arm fast bowler.
Uncapped Players
The uncapped pool has many interesting names. One of them is Nikhil Chaudhary. He is listed as an Indian uncapped allrounder. He played for Punjab in 2017 and later moved to Australia. He also played in the Big Bash League. His base price stands at Rs 40 lakh.
There are 77 total slots open, and 31 of those are for overseas players. Teams will try to fill these places wisely. With so many uncapped Indian players in the pool, teams may focus on building a strong bench.
