At the IPL auction in Kochi on Friday, SRH signed Harry Brook for Rs 13.25 crore. Brook had entered the auction with a starting bid of Rs 1.5 crore.
Initially, there was a bidding war between Royal Challengers Bangalore and Rajasthan Royals before Sunrisers Hyderabad joined the fray. SRH and RR continued to raise the paddle until Brook’s worth reached Rs 13 crore, at which point RR dropped out. RR has only Rs 13.2 crore in its bank account.

The 23-year-old made his T20I debut against the West Indies in Bridgetown in 2022. Brook has a strike rate of 137.77 and an average of 26.57 in 17 innings for England. He also played on the Three Lions’ World Cup-winning team in Australia.
Brook will be playing in the IPL for the first time.
