ISI spy arrested from BrahMos Nagpur unit, alleged of leaking technical details to Pakistan

Accused has been booked under ‘official secrets act’.

A spy, identified as Nishant Agarwal was arrested by the security agencies on Monday in Nagpur.  Uttar Pradesh and Maharastra Anti-Terrorist Squad in a joint operation nabbed the accused on the charges of alleged affiliation to Pakistan based Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI). Nishant Agarwal was working at BrahMos Aerospace Centre at Nagpur and agencies were tracking the accused since Sunday night. As per the sources, the accused was passing vital details of BrahMos unit to Pakistan and US agencies too.

The vital details, which were leaked by Nishant mainly comprised of technical secrets of aerospace centre. He has been booked under ‘official secrets act’.

Nishant joined the Nagpur aerospace unit in 2014 and BrahMos is a joint venture of India and Russia.  The Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) facility in Nagpur from where Nishant was picked makes propellents for the BrahMos missile. The BrahMos is a medium-range supersonic missile that can be fired from submarines, ships, aircraft or land.
