Islampur Assembly Constituency 2025: Islampur Assembly Constituency (No. 174) is located in Nalanda district, Bihar that covers the Islampur and Ekangarsarai blocks. It is a mainly village area where people live off the land through agriculture that is the major contributor to the local economy.

Islampur has been an area with a very eventful history of politics where others parties mostly shared the power alternatively. The area has seen ruling either of the saturated spots for the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) or the Janata Dal (United) [JD(U)], two political entities that have been deeply intertwined during the last few Bihar elections.

Rakesh Kumar Roushan of RJD won the 2020 election defeating Chandrasen Prasad of JD(U) by 3,698 votes. This result was pointed out by many as an indication of RJD’s progressively gaining ground in the area.
