Political corridors ahead of Jharkhand Assembly elections witnessed numerous twists and turns with several MLA’s switching courts and joining rival camps. As stated in reports, at least 18 political leaders with significant clout in their respective constituencies had switched parties after being denied Assembly poll tickets in Jharkhand.

Here’s a quick glance at the performance card of few turn courts amid vote counting for Jharkhand Assembly elections –

Sukhdeo Bhagat

Sukhdeo Bhagat moved to the BJP, and was promptly fielded by the party from Lohardaga seat. He was trailing at number three in Lohardaga after the AJSU and the Congress.

Kunal Sarangi

Sitting MLA from Baharagora Kunal Sarangi had quit the JMM to join the Bharatiya Janata Party. However, the trend suggest that the voters preferred the JMM candidate Samir Mohanty at Baharagora seat. The margin was well over 50 percentage point.

Pradeep Kumar Balmachu

Pradeep Kumar Balmachu joined the AJSU and was fielded from Ghatshila assembly constituency, where he was trailing at number three after the BJP and the JMM.

Manoj Yadav

Congress MLA from Barhi Manoj Yadav who joined the BJP contested from his own seat Barhi but he trailed to Congress’s Umashankar Akela at this seat.

Jaiprakash Bhai Patel

JMM leader and sitting MLA from Mandu, Jai Prakash Bhai Patel joined the BJP ahead of Jharkhand Assembly election. But as BJP candidate, Patel was trailing at number three after the AJSUP and the JMM candidates.
