Social activist Swami Agnivesh was attacked by Bharatiya Janta Yuva Morcha at Pakur district in Jharkhand. The social activist has blamed the Bharatiya Janata Party for the attack, the video of which is going viral on the social media.

Protesters accuse the social activist of having friendly terms with Pakistan and Christian missionaries. Alleged BJYM workers have accused the social activist of visiting the district to incite the tribal community on the directions of Christian missionaries and Pakistan.

Agnivesh was staying at Muskan Hotel, from where he was scheduled to attend a programme at Littipara. As soon as Agnivesh came out of the hotel to depart for Littipara, the groups got aggressive and attacked the activist and his supporters.

They were also shouting “Go back Agnivesh” slogans and showing him black flags. The Jharkhand Police reached the spot to control the situation.

However, this is not the first time, Swami Agnivesh has been attacked publicly. Earlier in 2011, Agnivesh was assaulted at a public meeting by a seer, who was angry at his comments on the Amarnath shrine. The seer was later arrested.
