Voters across Ranchi, Dhanbad, Mango, Hazaribagh, Deoghar, Giridih, Adityapur and other ULBs were marked by high enthusiasm, with turnout hovering around or above 63 percent in many areas, signaling robust public engagement after years without elected local leadership.
Ranchi Municipal Corporation Winner
Ranchi Municipal Corporation comprises:
- 53 wards (each electing a councillor)
- 1 mayoral post
In Ranchi, the state capital and the most politically significant civic contest, mayoral counting has revealed a close two-horse race. Roshni Khalkho has emerged as the leading candidate according to early election results because her extensive BJP-backed support network helps her maintain a clear lead over Rama Khalkho, who attracted both patriotic voters and Congress supporters.
Dhanbad: Mayoral Result Pending Amid Tight Counting
In Dhanbad Municipal Corporation, counting has been notably slower than in other cities, with officials projecting that the final mayoral decision may come later than other results due to extended rounds of counting.
Early ward wise results have started to trickle in such as victories for Urmila Mandal (Ward 21), Birendra Kumar Yadav (Ward 51) and Vikas Ranjan ‘Pappu’ (Ward 26) but the mayoral decision remains officially unconfirmed.
Mango Municipal Corporation
In Mango, part of the Jamshedpur urban region, early counting rounds point to Sudha Gupta emerging as a strong frontrunner in the mayoral race. According to initial tabulations, Gupta has secured a significant lead over her nearest rival in the first round, positioning her strongly for the final victory.
