A mob brutally attacked an unidentified man earlier this week in Jharkhand’s Dumka district, over the suspicion that he had murdered a seven-year-old girl. Man in his mid-40s was thrashed harshly following which he succumbed to his injuries and died in Patliputra Medical College and Hospital in Dhanbad on Thursday.
As per the police investigations so far, the girl went missing on Wednesday and her family members and a few others reached the railway station looking for her.
“Girls body was found inside a toilet on a station platform. The accused man was spotted outside the toilet. Suspecting him to be the murderer, a group of people attacked him,” said police officials.
Two FIRs have been registered, one on the basis of a complaint lodged by the girl’s maternal grandmother, in which she accused the man of killing the girl; and the other FIR has been registered by the police against unidentified villagers who beat up the man. As per the reports, no arrest has been made in connection with the incident so far.
