Jharkhand Voter List 2026: Jharkhand electoral roll revision is now coming into a crucial stage, with hearings about voter list discrepancies scheduled to start from August 24 2026. This whole thing is actually part of the ongoing Special Intensive Revision, which is often called SIR of the state electoral rolls.
The Chief Electoral Officer office has also said that people who end up receiving verification notices should not panic. They will get a chance to respond, share supporting documents and have their matter taken up, before any final say is made.
The development is significant because the draft electoral roll published during the exercise contains 2,21,01,249 electors, while 63,24,116 voters have been identified for verification.
Jharkhand Voter List 2026: What Happens From August 24?
From August 24, hearings will begin for cases where discrepancies or issues have been identified during the electoral-roll verification process.
The exercise includes voters placed in categories requiring further verification, including those whose current electoral-roll records could not be mapped with the previous reference roll or cases involving demographic similarities.
The Jharkhand CEO has emphasised that receiving a notice does not automatically mean that a voter’s name will be deleted. The notice is part of the verification and hearing process.
Why Are Voters Receiving Notices?
According to the Jharkhand Chief Electoral Officer’s office, 14,03,205 electors have been classified under the “No Mapping” category. These are voters whose names were not found in the 2003 electoral roll but who are included in the 2026 roll and submitted enumeration forms during the first phase.
Another 3,65,684 voters have been flagged under the Demographic Similar Entries (DSE) category because their records have potentially similar demographic details.

What Does “No Mapping” Mean?
The term “No Mapping” in this SIR exercise does not by itself establish that a person is ineligible to vote. According to the CEO, voters falling under the no-mapping, logical inconsistency and related categories will receive notices issued by the Electoral Registration Officer (ERO) through Booth Level Officers (BLOs).
In Jharkhand’s case, it refers to electors whose names could not be mapped to the 2003 electoral roll, despite being present in the current electoral roll and having submitted enumeration forms.
