BACKGROUND
Joseph David Keery, best known as Joe Keery, was born on April 24, 1992 in Newburyport, Massachusetts. Thomas and Laura Keery are his parents, and he is the second eldest of four sisters. After completing elementary and secondary school at River Valley Charter School, he transferred to Newburyport High School. Keery attended Theatre in the Open, a performing arts vacation at Maudslay State Park, when he was younger. In the end, he began his acting career in high school and graduated from the Theatre School at DePaul University in 2014.
After graduating from DePaul University, Keery attended over a hundred auditions before landing the part of Steve Harrington on “Stranger Things.” Over the years, Keery has appeared in many films and television series. He appeared in “Empire” (2015), “Chicago Fire” (2012), and “Henry Gamble’s Birthday Party” (2015).
