Four people attacked a journalist in Mumbai late night on Sunday while he was on his way to home. Calling it an attempt to murder, the Times Now journalist Herman Gomes shares his horror on Facebook where he describes how the attack took place near Gamdevi police station while on his way to home with a friend.

“Tonight while returning with my friend Cavell D’costa, I was attacked by an unknown group of people right outside my Bombay House. It was clearly pre-planned. They were armed with a knuckle duster,” writes Herman on Facebook.

Later he reached Gamdevi police station to register an FIR with the police. A senior IPS officer is probing the case, he said.

“I was attacked by four people out of nowhere. You can see my condition. I have got six stitches on my right eye. All I can say is, these people were waiting for me for a long time. It was not a last-minute provocation. They stood ready for the attack. They thrashed my friend as well and took away his mobile phone,” Herman told news agency ANI.

He said he didn’t know whether the attackers were upset over any of his story. “I always mind my own business and do stories that I firmly Believe in. Last night was something different, and they came out to kill me. I don’t know which story affected people so much,” he said in the Facebook post.
