A week after failing to turn up before Enforcement Directorate (ED), businessman Karti Chidambaram has now informed the Madras high court that his legal representative will appear before the ED for inquiry. Sources say that Karti’s representative would go before the ED only if agency sends legally correct notice.
Karti Chidambaram, on August 19 had filed a writ petition against the summons by the ED, to which additional solicitor-general of India G Rajagopalan replied that the high court did not have the jurisdiction to hear a writ petition since the matter pertained to the 2G case.
On Thursday as well Justice B Rajendran, before whom the matter came up for hearing said the court would lack jurisdiction if the issue pertained to 2G case. Senior advocate Gopal Subramanian who is representing Karti Chidambaram demanded anaffidavit so that it could be proved that the case indeed pertained to 2G, to which additional solicitor-general stated that he would file an affidavit.
